Contact Lenses
Methacrylates, crosslinkers, and UV blockers have been incorporated into contact lens formulations since the 1970s. Gelest offers a wide variety of high purity and custom monomers for hydrogel contact and intraocular lenses.

3D Printing
Resins used in SLA/DLP 3D printers require photocurable moieties, such as (meth)acrylate monomers that undergo radical chain-growth polymerization, to ensure crosslinking. Typical acrylate photoresins are comprised of (multi)functional monomers, oligomers, a photoinitiator, and an optical absorber.
Coatings
Several monomers have been formulated for use in silicone release coatings, scratch resistant surfaces, radiation curable coatings, solvent coatings, and coatings with high heat and chemical resistance.
